FAH Client Configuration

For the general user, please look at the Web Browser configuration display. This is a great tool and is simple to use for someone who is not computer savvy and will keep you folding easily.
For advanced configuration please look at the Advanced configuration display. This is a great tool that allows you to do many customization features to tweak your system exactly how you would like it.
For all users please look at the Windows Task menu icon for a detailed description of quick controls you can do from your task menu located in the lower right side of your Windows start menu.

Web Browser Configuration

  • A. Your donor name and team number. You can also select the hotlink to change either of those or change you passkey
  • B. Chose a disease in which you help the most. Stanford does not guarantee that all your work will go towards the selected disease, but a large potion will
  • C. This is the total number of FAH credits your donor name has folded across all teams in which you have been a part of
  • D. Click this link to go to your Stanford stats page
  • E. This is the name of the team in which you are a part of. It also shows how many points contributed to that team, how many FAH credits that team has, and a hotlink to the Stanford stats page for the team
  • F. These are the devices on your computer that are available to fold. Remember, you must have an equal or greater number of CPU cores as you have GPUs. This example shows a computer with an 8 core CPU. You will notice that the CPU says its only folding on 4 cores, thats because the other 4 are supporting the 4 GPUs
  • G. The points per day you will earn overall
  • H. Click on one of your devices to see what Work Unit it is working on
  • I. Click on one of your devices to see an ETA of completion
  • J. Click on one of your devices to see estimated FAH credits upon completion
  • K. Toggle your FAH power. If working on your computer and it becomes slow while your folding, lower the settings to accommodate your computer. Also if you wish to save on energy cost lower the workload
  • L. If you select “Only When Idle” your computer will only fold when your screensaver is on. Use this if you wish folding to cease while you are working on it
  • M. Stop folding altogether until you resume again

Advanced Configuration

  • A. Configure and preferences are for advanced configuration. Please CLICK HERE for more information. Exit simply closes the advanced configuration window
  • B. You can add multiple Folding Rigs here so you can view them all on one master computer. Please CLICK HERE for more information
  • C. Allows you to look at more advanced data. Please CLICK HERE for more information
  • D. Fold will start all folding, Pause will stop all folding, and Finish will stop folding after the current Work Unit
  • E. This is where you can toggle Light folding to Full folding. Set this lower if you have issues with your computer running slow or if you wish to save energy
  • F. Hotlinks are provided for your personal stats and your team stats. Click either one to go to the Stanford stats pages
  • G. Here is where you add and remove additional folding rigs in your operation. Please CLICK HERE for more information
  • H. This list your devices on your PC that are able to fold. You can tweak these by going to Configure in the upper left corner. Please CLICK HERE for more information
  • I. When clicking one of these Work Units, it displays the information in box J. You can also remove these work units if you are having issues here. Please CLICK HERE for more information
  • J. Displays the Work Unit you are working on with a particular device. It provides detailed information and hotlinks regarding the fold. Please CLICK HERE for more information
  • K. Estimated FAH credits per day on your PC
  • L. Clicking this will pull up the Protein Viewer, a graphical interface showing the fold you are working on
  • M. Time clock
  • N.¬†Estimated FAH credits per day on your PC

  • Web Control – Brings up the Basic Configuration web browser page
  • Advanced Control – Brings up the Advanced Configuration window
  • Protein Viewer – Displays a graphical interactive GUI of the proteins being folded
  • Full – Quick toggle to full folding power
  • Medium – Quick toggle to medium folding power
  • Light – Quick toggle to light folding power
  • On Idle – Will only fold when your computer goes to sleep or screensaver
  • Pause – Stops folding on your machine
  • About – FAH information
  • Quit – Stops the folding program until you start it again, the task bar icon will disappear

  • Step 1. Log into Google Chrome with your Google account
  • Step 2. Click the Google Apps button to access the Google Webstore
  • Step 3. Search “FAH” in the Google Web Store search bar
  • Step 4. Click the “Folding@home” App
  • Step 5. Click the “+ Free” button in the upper right hand corner
  • Step 6. Click the “Add” button when the pop-up comes
  • Step 7. This will take you back to your Google Apps. Click the new “Folding@home” icon
  • Step 8. The program will automatically begin downloading your work units. You need to enter your donor information now. For the “Folding as” field you will need to enter your prefix and your Counterwallet address (if you have not obtained your Counterwallet address, please CLICK HERE first). You must use one of the following formats:
    • Folders wishing to receive every token on the platform should use the prefix:

      PookTwo_ALL_16muW9htJAYrrXrKN8BwWTmT6cgXscXDzJ

    • Folders wishing to receive only FLDC and the selected TOKEN use the prefix:

      PookTwo_SCOTCOIN_16muW9htJAYrrXrKN8BwWTmT6cgXscXDzJ

    • Folders wishing to receive only FLDC should use the prefix:

      PookTwo_FLDC_16muW9htJAYrrXrKN8BwWTmT6cgXscXDzJ

  • Step 9. You need to obtain a passkey, please select the hotlink “passkey”
  • Step 10. A pop-up will come again asking you about the passkey. Select “Get a Passkey” and this will bring you to another webpage
  • Step 11. Enter your donor name from Step. 8 and your email address and click “Get Passkey”
  • Step 12. Go to your email and copy the passkey that was sent to you
  • Step 13. Paste the passkey in the Folding@home chrome client and select “Save”
  • Step 14. Once you have saved you are done! Please leave this tab open in order to keep folding. If you exit out, you can always reopen the Folding@home client by going to your Google apps page again.
